About Us

Deirdre Coogan was drawn to the architecture of Edinburgh in the early 1990’s whilst attending University in Glasgow.

After completing a BA in Business Studies and an MSc in Entrepreneurial Studies, she made it her home in 1995.

During her more than 20 year career in the Scottish Property market, Deirdre spent the first 10 years working for a major UK corporate estate agent and an established Edinburgh legal firm looking after both volume residential and commercial sales across Scotland.

After returning from a year long world trip in 2006 she was approached by a large professional lettings agency in Scotland’s central belt and asked to develop an estate agency department within that business.

Over the next 10 years, she successfully developed that business to become a significant player in the Edinburgh market place with an emphasis on maximising sale prices and delivering a quality service to its clients.

Over the years, Deirdre became increasingly aware that many of her clients in the Scottish property market had needs which simply could not be catered for within the confines of a standard estate agency practice.

In 2017 she established Coogan Property to concentrate on providing the specialist services required to address these needs.

Deirdre has gained vast experience in those 20 years across multiple property sectors and has specialised in:

  • Residential and Commercial sales
  • Negotiation
  • Brokerage
  • Investment strategy and property sourcing
  • Development feasibility
  • Refurbishment project management
  • Portfolio sales
  • Asset management and strategic disposal of high value asset categories

When Deirdre is not working she enjoys being on the water and rowing is her new hobby, mainly on the Firth of Forth.

A keen rugby fan, she has had the pleasure of seeing the Lions play in New Zealand on the 2005 tour and Ireland play the Pumas in the quarter finals of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in Wales.

Travelling, cycling and live music are her other passions.
